Nestled in acres of fields and woodlands of outstanding beauty in the stunning Yorkshire countryside, but less than two miles from the famous market town, Holmfirth, of ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ fame, the Horn Cote homestead is a lovingly restored late 17th Century, Grade II listed, oak and stone farmhouse, barn and converted stables oozing charm, character and comfort.
A lovely, 17th-Century Yorkshire farmhouse which offers gorgeous living spaces and flexible sleeping accommodation over 3 floors. There are two, extremely comfortable living areas, each with a log burning stove, so an authentic country atmosphere is guaranteed!
The snug room off the fantastically equipped farmhouse kitchen, has the dining table so a great space to all be together and enjoy the fun!
The Farm also has a games room with a pool table and darts board – a magnet for all ages!
There are 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms plus an additional cloakroom on the ground floor.
The original hay barn and animal stalls attached to the farmhouse – it’s a stunning property in its own right! The 35’, double-height lounge/dining hall, complete with feature fireplace with large log-burning stove, never fails to ‘wow’ guests when they see it for the first time! So, just like the Farm, you’re guaranteed a wonderful, Yorkshire farmhouse ambience and masses of comfort!
The Barn has two, large ensuite bedrooms – one of them on the ground floor so good for guests with reduced mobility – and a small kitchenette area … small but perfectly formed and with everything you’ll need during your stay!
The dining hall is large enough to take a full-sized, foldable table-tennis table which is yours FOC during your stay if you want it.
A gorgeous 17th Century, Grade II Listed Yorkshire Farmhouse with attached Barn on the outskirts of Holmfirth, synonymous with Last of the Summer Wine.
During COVID-19 and ‘the rule of 6’ measures, the farmhouse has been split to offer two separate, self-contained holiday rental houses, both offering large, comfortable spaces inside and out and both oozing character and charm – the sort you’d expect from a 300 year old property which has been lovingly restored by the present owners.
You’ll have numerous walks right from your door – Horn Cote is also ideally placed to explore the Peak District National Park as well as allowing you to discover all that West and South Yorkshire have to offer. The renowned Yorkshire Sculpture Park is only 10 minutes away and is a truly unique attraction with exhibitions by world-renowned sculptors and artists – including currently four major sculptures by Damien Hirst in the 18th-century Country Park.
Tucked away in the heart of Yorkshire Horn Cote is the perfect getaway with access to beautiful walks and historic sites.
